running physiotherapy

We look at the body as a whole,  as the body is a whole.  A shoulder doesn't work by itself. It has a relationship with the neck, the ribcage, the pelvis and even the feet.  Your injury and pain is unique to you, and a comprehensive assessment of how you move and function is needed to find out what is the best treatment for you.  Our appointments are up to 45 minutes long, as we believe time is needed to do a proper assesment, treatment and education of exercises etc.

We are one of the only clinics in New Zealand who have trained with the Postural Restoration Institute (PRI).  PRI is a revolutionary physiotherapy approach which takes into account the inherent asymmetry of the human body, as well as the importance of breathing correctly.  From here we have trained with Zac Cupples, and developed an even more effective, simplified approach for treating pain and dysfunction in the body. This approach is summarized in our Build your D.R.E.A.M Body model

Our treatment philosophy is to first restore movement through key areas in the body.  Once adequate movement has been restored, we aim to improve strength and then capacity (endurance) in key areas to allow the person to become strong and resilient.

We also are able to educate our clients on foundational principles which can accelerate their healing journey.  This includes nutrition, sleep, stress managements and occasionally supplements (if needed).
